Welcome Friends!

Friends of Neithercut Woodland is an organization dedicated to preserving the values of the woodland that were first articulated by Josiah L. Littlefield.

Named after William Neithercut - a banker from Flint who was instrumental in helping CMU obtain the property from Littlefield's descendants - the 252-acre Neithercut Woodland is a wonderful natural area available to visitors, students, and faculty for education and research.

The College of Science and Technology has a special interest in facilitating access to the woodland for K-12 students and to encourage use by the general public. However, with the passage of time, we are faced with increasing costs of maintaining the four trails and coping with exotic species such as autumn olive.

We invite you to become a "Friend" of Neithercut Woodland. We will turn to this group of Friends for leadership in formulating recommendations for the protection and use of the woodland. You can join this group by contacting Gail Moore, CST Director of Development, at (989) 774-3773 and by donating an initial, nominal annual fee of $50.00. Please become involved - we appreciate your support!
